The object of the game is to be the player with the most prestige. Throughout the game the player will be exploring different wine trails, building prestige, completing a wine cellar, and even commiting Faus Pas. Any player who completes the game with at least one accomplishment on their party card sheet, with the most prestige points, wins the game.

In Washington Wine Trails the board game, a faux pas is a social blunder commited in a tasting room. This can be anything from breaking a glass, to returning a bottle of wine to the wrong tasting room. When you draw a faux pas card, you can choose to use it on another player, causing them to lose prestige. You can also stop a friend from commiting a faux pas, and gain prestige.
